Here's a group photo, taken at our end of
summer Ice Cream Party last week!
After an enjoyable performance of the
kids' favorite pieces, we went outside for ice cream and then played a
few theory games. It was the perfect way to end the summer, and get excited
about the fun, new things we'll be doing this fall.

Five Benefits of Private Piano Lessons
To be honest, there are many more than just five benefits to long-term private piano lessons. But I came across an article, written by Anne Crosby Gaudet, that beautifully expresses the top five advantages.
I agree with each and every one of these. Giving your child the opportunity of private lessons teaches them so many valuable life skills and I urge you to read the full article.
1. Private piano lessons center around a very special one to one teacher/student relationship that can last for many years.
2. Learning to play piano and read music involves all parts of the brain.
3. During the journey of learning music, students develop the ability to assess their own work.
4. Studying music gives us the opportunity to pull back layer after layer as we discover the wonderful things that music has to offer.
5. Students who keep music studies in their lives throughout high school develop a personal identity as a musician.
